TracKlean – Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 28, 2026
What TracKlean does
TracKlean removes known tracking parameters (such as utm_source, fbclid, gclid) from URLs. It does this by registering declarative rewrite rules with your browser's built-in declarativeNetRequest engine. The browser itself applies these rules; no extension code observes your browsing.
Data collection
- TracKlean collects no personal data.
- TracKlean collects no browsing history.
- TracKlean uses no analytics or telemetry of any kind.
- TracKlean makes no network requests to any server.
Local settings
Your preferences (on/off state and your per-site allowlist) are stored using Chrome's extension storage on your device. If you are signed into Chrome, Chrome may sync these settings across your own devices via your Google account – this synchronization is performed by Chrome, not by TracKlean, and the data never reaches us.
Permissions explained
- Read and change data on all websites: required so the browser can apply URL-cleaning rules on every site. This permission is used for nothing else.
- declarativeNetRequest: the rule engine that performs the cleaning inside the browser.
- storage: saves your settings locally.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be published at this address with an updated effective date.
