Cookie Sweeper – Privacy Policy

What Cookie Sweeper does
Cookie Sweeper deletes a website's cookies shortly after you close its last tab, unless the site is on your keep list. All processing happens locally inside your browser.
Data collection
- Cookie Sweeper collects no personal data.
- Cookie Sweeper collects no browsing history. It inspects which sites are open only in the moment, to know when a site's last tab closes; nothing is recorded.
- Cookie Sweeper uses no analytics or telemetry.
- Cookie Sweeper makes no network requests to any server.
Local settings
Your keep list, mode and grace period are stored using Chrome's extension storage. If you are signed into Chrome, Chrome may sync these settings across your own devices – this is done by Chrome, not by us. Sweep statistics (counters only) are stored locally on your device.
Permissions explained
- cookies + access to all websites: required to list and delete cookies of sites you close. Used for nothing else.
- tabs: required to detect when a site's last tab closes.
- alarms: powers the grace-period timer.
- storage: saves your settings locally.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be published at this address with an updated effective date.
